DOMDocument::createTextNodeCreate new text node

Description

DOMText DOMDocument::createTextNode ( string $content )

This function creates a new instance of class DOMText. This node will not show up in the document unless it is inserted with (e.g.) DOMNode->appendChild().

Parameters

content

The content of the text.

Return Values

The new DOMText or FALSE if an error occured.

About escaping characters:
This is standard behavior.  brackets, ampersans, and maybe even quoted will be "escaped" if you output your XML as a string. 

This should not, however, happen if you append your text node to a CDATA section.
